Choosing the right venue for your event is crucial for its success. When it comes to selecting the perfect venue, at Prince Philip House we know all too well how difficult it can be to start the searching process, it’s something we help with every day. To point you in the right direction, we have put together some tips to help you along the way!

Define Your Event Purpose

First things first, it is really important to identify and understand the purpose and goal of your event. What is it that you’re hosting? Is it a conference? Wedding? Workshop? Party? The type of event will greatly influence the choice of venue and will get you off to a good start as it will rule out any venues that cannot accommodate to your type of event.

Know Your Budget

Top tip: determine your budget early on. Again, this will help to narrow down the options and you will be clear on how much you have to play with for the event itself. Trust us, you don’t want to end up agreeing to your dream venue that is out of budget and then get let down!

Consider the Location

Arguably one of the most crucial factors to consider is the location of the venue. Think about the convenience for your attendees: is the venue easily accessible? Is there ample parking? Is there public transportation nearby? Also, it is worth considering if any of your guests will be travelling in from other countries, you may want to choose a venue with easy transport links to the airports. Choosing a venue that is centrally located can be key to ticking all of those boxes, an example of a venue that ticks these boxes is our Prince Philip House, a short walk from Piccadilly Circus with the ability to cater to a wide range of events – one to add to the list!

Capacity and Size

Another factor to consider is the size of the venue and the capacity of the room depending on how many guests will be on the invite list. Ensure the venue can comfortably accommodate your expected number of guests and consider the layout—does it fit your event’s needs. Will you need a stage area, dance floor, or breakout room? Is your desired layout easily achieved operationally? These are all things to think about before choosing the venue!
